Board of Directors

Charlene Olivier

Having lived abroad for a number of years, Charlene has found home back in South Africa. Her career started out at a Nursery where she was involved in Community development and charity projects in an attempt to help those in need on a more permanent basis. Then moving into the corporate arena, Charlene carried her love and passion for life into every position whilst climbing the corporate ladder to Vice President of an International firm.  She has successfully built innovative partnerships with Leaders from civil society, governments and the private sector during her career. Having four children of her own, Charlene has always had a vision do more for children. This is how Global Childrens Fund was borne and instead of only a select few receiving assistance, she believes that as a global fund, we will try to assist as many children as humanly possible in gaining access to an education, improving literacy and social upliftment and thereby fostering a generation with improved knowledge to create a sustainable future. Charlene has a Post Graduate Degree.

Tanya Wrght

Earlier in her career Tanya has served on Boards of Overseas Corporations. Tanya brings a fresh perspective to the Global Childrens Fund Board by ensuring fundamentals are in place and her focus is centred around the lives we will change in the future with positivity, motivation and growth potentials second to none. She is married and has two children. Tanya enjoys reading, sporting events and cooking but her immediate focus is giving a fulfilling and enriched life to her two children.

Celeste Thys

Having been a single mom, Celeste has experienced how challenging it can be at times to support a child and ensure they get a good education and upbringing. Having spent more than 20 years in the Corporate Industry Celeste brings a wealth of knowledge to our cause.  Celeste has always been passionate about community upliftment and has a track record of being instrumental in assisting with food schemes and various community-based projects.

Angela Emmett
Programme Director

Angie Emmett has extensive knowledge about the NGO Sector, in particular the day to day running of administrative operations. Angie firmly believes that we should be in a world where every child is loved and respected regardless of race, religion, class or caste. Children should be fed, clothed and housed within a caring family environment. Children should have voice and be able to speak out without fear of the consequences. Children should be free from exploitation and abuse and from direct or indirect effects of communal violence. A world where every child is free to be a child and live in dignity and has a hope for future.
